    The program is open to college students, recent graduates, BIPOC, immigrant, international, and first-generation students, as well as professionals looking to pivot or transition into a new career.
  3. Is the program free?
    Yes. The Ensemble Navigator Program is completely free for both mentees and mentors.
  4. When does the program start and end?
    The program officially launches on April 19 and runs through the end of August, providing participants with structured mentorship support throughout the summer internship and job search period.

    Mentees receive personalized guidance from experienced professionals, including support with resume development, interview preparation, career planning, networking strategies, and industry insights.

    Participants are matched based on career interests, professional background, goals, and communication style to ensure a meaningful and productive mentorship experience.
  3. How much time is required from mentees and mentors?
    Mentors and mentees are expected to meet for an introductory session within the first or second week of the program to establish goals, expectations, and communication preferences. After this initial meeting, mentors and mentees are encouraged to schedule additional sessions at mutually convenient times throughout the program period. The mentorship experience is designed to be flexible while maintaining consistent engagement to support meaningful progress.

    The mentorship role is voluntary and unpaid. Mentors participate as part of a community-driven initiative to support the professional development of students and emerging professionals.

    Mentors are expected to meet with their mentee for an introductory session within the first or second week of the program. Following this initial meeting, mentors and mentees may schedule additional meetings at times that are mutually convenient throughout the duration of the program.

Program Structure & Logistics

  1. How long does the mentorship program last?
    The Ensemble Navigator Program runs from April 19 through the end of August, spanning approximately four months. This extended timeline allows participants to receive support during the critical summer internship and job search period.
  2. Is the program conducted in person or virtually?
    As some mentors will be out of state, we recognize that the connection will be strictly virtual. However, for those who are in state, we recommend a mix of in-person and virtual meetings, when convenient, to maximize the mentorship experience.
  3. What happens if a mentor-mentee match is not working well?
    Ensemble Washington monitors the mentorship experience and provides support when needed. If necessary, a rematch may be facilitated to ensure a positive and productive experience for both participants.
  4. Can participants join more than once?
    Yes. Mentees may reapply for future cohorts, and mentors are welcome to continue supporting additional mentees in subsequent program cycles.
