SBA Disaster Loans Available in Washington After Winter Storms

Residents, Small Businesses, and Nonprofits in King County Can Receive In-Person Assistance to Apply for Federal Disaster Recovery Funding

Following the severe winter storms that affected Washington communities between December 5 and December 22, 2025, financial assistance is now available to residents, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations recovering from the damage. These storms caused unexpected challenges for many families, entrepreneurs, and community organizations across the region.

To support recovery efforts, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in King County to help individuals and organizations access federal disaster recovery funding. These centers provide free, in-person assistance where SBA representatives guide applicants through the disaster loan application process, answer questions, and help ensure applications are completed correctly.

Ensemble Washington is sharing this information to ensure that immigrant entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and community members across our networks are aware of the support available and understand how to access these recovery resources.

Understanding SBA Disaster Loans

SBA disaster loans are low-interest federal loans designed to help communities rebuild after natural disasters. Unlike traditional business loans, these programs are specifically created to support recovery after disasters and help individuals and organizations restore stability.

These loans are available to homeowners, renters, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations affected by the winter storms. Funding can be used to repair or replace storm-damaged property, restore homes and essential belongings, replace business equipment or inventory, and support organizations that experienced economic injury, such as loss of revenue caused by the disaster.

The goal of the program is to help communities recover more quickly while minimizing long-term financial hardship.

Where to Receive In-Person Assistance

For residents and organizations seeking guidance during the application process, SBA representatives are available at Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in King County.
