Ensemble Washington Driving Equitable Mobility in Seattle

In Seattle, access to reliable transportation is more than just a convenience; it's a fundamental pillar of opportunity. That's why Ensemble Washington is actively engaged in initiatives that promote sustainable and equitable transportation solutions. Through funding from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Front and Centered, Ensemble is running the BSTI Transportation Assistance program. This program provides 20 e-bikes and 100 bus passes to eligible applicants and aims to improve transportation access for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Thus making it easier for individuals to commute to work, school, healthcare appointments, and other essential destinations.

To run this program, Engage is taking a multifaceted approach to ensure:

1. Community Empowerment by actively listening to and collaborating with residents to ensure that solutions are tailored to their specific needs and priorities.

2. Sustainable Solutions by championing transportation options that reduce our carbon footprint and promote a healthier environment for all.

3. Breaking Down Barriers through continuous dedication to dismantling the systemic barriers that have historically disadvantaged BIPOC communities, ensuring equitable access to transportation resources and opportunities.
